What would an alien script look like?

I tried to imagine what the script of the nomadic, desert people of Frank Herbert’s Dune might look like. I thought about the environment, the harsh beauty of the desert, and the violent and passionate culture of the Fremen when I began.

Grounding myself in a narrative allowed me much greater freedom. I had apparent Chinese and Japanese influences but tried to go beyond the influence and into a unique space.
